Analysis of the three core locations in residential feng shui: door, bed, and stove.

In the traditional Feng Shui system, there is a very classic saying:
"The three essentials of a house are: door, bed, and stove."
These three factors determine the core energy structure of a family.
1. Main entrance – air vent
In Feng Shui, the main entrance is called the "Qi entrance," which is the entry point for the energy of the entire residence.
Key principles:
- It is not advisable to face the elevator or stairs directly (as the energy will rush towards it).
- It is not advisable to have the toilet visible as soon as you open the door (to allow foul air to enter directly).
- It is not advisable to have a through-hall configuration (front door facing back door, as this prevents energy from accumulating).
If sunlight and a clean space are immediately visible when the door is opened, then the energy tends to linger.
From a modern perspective, the first visual impression of a front door can influence the psychological atmosphere of a family.
II. Bed – The Core Magnetic Field of a Person
The bed is where people spend the most time of the day.
Feng Shui Requirements:
- The headboard is against a wall.
- It is not advisable to face a mirror directly.
- It is not advisable to have a beam pressing down on the top.
- It is not advisable to face the door directly.
Why?
Because sleep is the time when one's "qi" is weakest, an unstable bed can easily lead to anxiety and insomnia.
Having a headboard is essentially a "structure that provides a sense of security".
This is highly consistent with attachment theory in psychology.
III. Stove Location – Source of Family Wealth
The stove represents "fire," and fire represents wealth and life energy.
Traditional interpretation:
- Stove not facing the door
- The stove should not be placed opposite the sink (water and fire clash).
- There is a support behind the stove
From a practical perspective, the kitchen is the heart of a family's warmth and communication.
A clean, warm, and inviting kitchen can enhance family cohesion.
IV. Why are these three the most important?
The door is the "entry point for external air".
The bed is the "foundation of human vitality".
The stove is the "source of livelihood".
Only when these three elements are stable can the entire spatial structure be stable.
Many feng shui adjustments revolve around these three points.
